Details
Start early from Baku and head north toward the majestic Caucasus Mountains on a full-day journey through some of Azerbaijan's most spectacular scenery. Your first stop is the famous Candy Cane Mountains, known for their striped red-and-white rock formations — a truly one-of-a-kind place for photos. Along the way you'll pass the sacred Mount Beshbarmag and travel through the scenic Guba region, famous for its rivers, forests and mountain views. Continue through the Gechresh Forest and stop at panoramic viewpoints as the road climbs higher. The highlight is Khinaliq — one of the highest and oldest continuously inhabited villages in the world, at 2,350 meters above sea level. Explore its narrow streets, meet locals, and learn about the village's unique language and centuries-old way of life. Optionally, enjoy a homemade lunch at a traditional family house-museum: freshly baked bread, local cheese, homemade jams, a few traditional dishes and tea from a samovar. In the evening we return to Baku with unforgettable memories.
